Positioning - is the promotion of a website in Google search under a few - the most popular keywords, but a given thematic category. Such a strategy involves elevating the site under the keywords that bring the most traffic and the most benefit to a site that operates in a category such as motorcycles or art. This is the most popular and widely used positioning. On the market, every interactive or SEO offers just such positioning. Proven and often chosen because of the acquisition of a large amount of organic traffic. Positioning of websites is normally based on "on page" and "off page" activities, that is, within the website itself and on the Internet.

Optimization of the site ("on page" knitting) is about 200 elements that need to be adjusted. Configuring the site makes it compliant with Google's recommendations and still user-friendly. You can read more about site optimization in the article: What impact Google PageSpeed Insights has on SEO. Certainly, there is also the analysis and selection of appropriate phrases to be added to the site in SEO texts or in various parts of the site, e.g. headings, sub-page titles, etc. The site itself is also technically optimized. Such optimization includes reducing loading times, configuring the server on which it is hosted, simplifying the framework or checking the error-free HTML code.

Then you also add internal linking, that is, links to other parts of the sites. This will make it easier for Google's robots to index it. They will gather more information, which will contribute to its better rating. We also add content to the site and update it regularly. In addition to these few most important of the hundreds of optimization elements, links are added to the website, so called backlinks to the site. By doing so, we increase its popularity. The site, along with the address, brand name and phone number, is added in business directories or on Google Maps as a business card to increase its credibility. Traffic is also directed to it from the web to increase statistics related to the number of hits or time spent on the site, which also affects the overall rating of the site.

Types of positioning: Local positioning under local traffic

Local positioning is the raising of a site's position in Google search in a local context, such as a particular locality. Positioning is used to promote the sites of local businesses or projects in a particular city. The purpose of local positioning is to attract only organic traffic, but from a particular region. In this option, the positioned site is not visible globally under the given phrases, but only when the search contains the name of the locality or comes from the area. Local positioning is based on standard optimization of the site and its adaptation to Google search.

An additional element is the strong association of the website with a given stationary address, so that Google, wanting to provide personalized search results, will promote our site to residents of a given city. Tying a website to a local address and location is done in several ways. The first is to use local phrases on the site. These are thematic keywords, that include additions of city names or area names themselves. Adding a website as a business card for a local brand in business directories on the web, along with NAP data, i.e. phone number, address and name. We also create a Google Maps business card that has the name of our site so that Google gets another linking of the site locally. The element through which we link sites to a location is also to perform link building from local forums and websites.
